Why should voters elect you?
"I have produced results: first new school in 30 years in Mason, renovating existing schools; International Baccalaureate expansion; new Luther Jackson Middle School gifted center."
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"FCPS is the finest large school system in the United States. However, our schools face challenges that threaten to erode this record of solid achievement: funding shortfalls, changing student demographics, competition for expert teachers, unfunded state and federal mandates and the current inflexible No Child Left Behind agenda."
What is your plan to address the traffic problems in Virginia?
Fairfax County Public Schools, a system of 165,000 students, 197 schools and centers, and 22,000 employees can assist in alleviating traffic congestion by re-egineering its bus transportation system and thereby changing the driving patterns of its employees, as well as cutting down on the hundreds of parents and students driving to and from schools. FCPS is also reducing its carbon footprint through its 'Cool Schools' initiative.
Do you think current policies governing growth & development in your area are too restrictive, not restrictive enough or just right?
