Why should voters elect you?
I have worked hard for the people of the Coles District, and we have accomplished much. However, there is still more work to be done.
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
Transportation is and will continue to be the most pressing issue for the entire Northern Virginia region. Recent actions by the General Assembly and the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority have established reliable and dedicated funding sources for the region. While this is a step in the right direction, a great deal of hard work is still ahead of us. Expanding our road network and improving our transit systems are key to maintaining a high quality of life.
What is your plan to address the traffic problems in Virginia?
Traffic jams do not respect jurisdictional boundaries. Any meaningful transportation solution must involve a regional approach. As Prince William County's representative to the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, I have already seen the value of cities and counties working together to address the transportation crisis that plagues our region. Better planning, coupled with new funding sources, will allow us to focus on implementing meaningful transportation solutions instead of just talking about them. The Transaction 2030 Plan established priorities for improvement along each of Northern Virginia's major corridors. I am proud to have been involved in the development of that plan, and look forward to working with the General Assembly and our neighboring jurisdictions toward its implementation.
Do you think current policies governing growth & development in your area are too restrictive, not restrictive enough or just right?
just right
