Why should voters elect you?

"I am a lifelong resident of Springfield, a recognized community leader, and I have the experience, leadership and vision to address our problems."

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"Misplaced county priorities have made Fairfax County an inhospitable place for middle-class families. Taxes have doubled in the past seven years, but what benefit have we seen? Neglected transportation needs and poorly planned development have choked our roads with congestion. We must temper the county government's insatiable appetite for high-density residential growth with infrastructure needs: roads, schools, open space. Overcrowded 'boardinghouses,' criminal illegal immigrants and gangs are changing the nature of our neighborhoods, yet the county has done little to nothing to address these concerns. We have to make the government responsive to citizens' priorities again."

What is your plan to address the traffic problems in Virginia?

Traffic congestion keeps us away from our families and communities and threatens our very health. Large developments with density increases have been approved but the developers have not been required to contribute significantly to transportation improvements. Transportation improvement is not a County priority anymore. First and foremost - I will make transportation a county priority and not wait for Richmond. I will continue to fight for our fair share from Richmond but also utilize more of the County’s bonding authority for transportation; require developers to contribute to transportation infrastructure as a part of re-zonings; and encourage and solicit creative and innovative ways to finance and build transportation solutions. I will use these funds to complete and add interchanges to the Parkway, find a fix for I-66, implement simple solutions like timing lights and opening the I-66 shoulder and HOV lanes on weekends and invest in cost effective mass transit.

Do you think current policies governing growth & development in your area are too restrictive, not restrictive enough or just right?

not restrictive enough
