Why should voters elect you?
I seek reelection to the House on the basis of my record and service over the past 10 years.
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
The most important issue facing Arlington, Northern Virginia and the commonwealth is maintaining the quality of public services particularly education, health care, transportation and the environment in the face of increasing demand and tighter budget conditions in the next several years.
What is your plan to address the traffic problems in Virginia?
We need to recognize that the 2007 transportation package was only a first step, and a flawed first step at that. We must develop stable, long-term revenue sources instead of gimmicks such as "abuser fees;" address a continuing shortfall in funding for maintenance of roads and bridges; and emphasize funding for mass transit both in our region and in other areas of the Commonwealth.
Do you think current policies governing growth & development in your area are too restrictive, not restrictive enough or just right?
not restrictive enough
