Why should voters elect you?
"I have a proven track record for responsive, responsible and innovative leadership. My constituents know they can count on my continued commitment on their behalf."
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"While improving transportation is our most pressing problem, we must continue to maintain our excellent educational system, keep our streets and neighborhoods safe and address clean air and water issues. Our greatest challenge lies in maintaining balance for all of these quality-of-life issues in a responsible, cost-effective manner. Engaging the community in these discussions is crucial to success."
What is your plan to address the traffic problems in Virginia?
Addressing our traffic problems requires a mosaic of solutions. I favor land use policies that foster connectivity and walkability - higher density near mass transit, extention of rail to Dulles and Centreville, more trails and trail connections throughout the County, additional bus routes, extension of the proposed Columbia Pike trolley through Annandale, expansion of the VRE to the south and west and better use of partnership projects with freight railroads that result in environmental and commuter rail benefits, take trucks off the highways and provide more capacity for motorists.
Do you think current policies governing growth & development in your area are too restrictive, not restrictive enough or just right?
just right
