Why should voters elect you?
"I've worked and will continue to work to bring people together in a 'Dulles Community' to address the critical issues affecting our citizens' everyday lives."
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"We have an enormous opportunity to create America's best place to work, live and raise a family. We can fulfill that promise by maintaining our excellent schools, taking care of our youth, getting people to work, home, shopping and recreation quickly and safely, and creating the infrastructure to attract world-class businesses. But realizing this unique opportunity is really about building a compelling 'Dulles Community,' a concept at the heart of everything I do."
What is your plan to address the traffic problems in Virginia?
Iâve already led the way in creating partnerships to obtain tens of millions of dollars in federal, state and local funding and up-front, private-sector proffers to address our most pressing transportation needs:
·The Route 50 Task Force, Waxpool Task Force, Belmont Ridge Road Club and Dulles Loop Implementation Group ⦠unprecedented public-private initiatives producing far-sighted recommendations to improve key roadways
·Improvement and Expansion Projects including six lanes on a four-mile stretch of Route 50, the pending completion of the Loudoun County Parkway and other improvements covering Claiborne Parkway, Braddock Road, Route 659, the East-West Connector from Route 659, Croson Lane, Sycolin Road, Poland Road, Tall Cedars Parkway and East Gate Drive
·Increasing proffers for secondary roads and other infrastructure to more than $40,000 per house.
In other words, I am already getting things done now to get traffic moving, and I intend to redouble these efforts.
Do you think current policies governing growth & development in your area are too restrictive, not restrictive enough or just right?
