Why should voters elect you?

I will provide strong leadership in Congress and be a forceful advocate to restore fiscal discipline, end wasteful government spending and ensure accountability in Washington.

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

Maintaining a strong economy is the most critical issue we face, with the prospect of the country falling into a recession looming. In these uncertain times, 8th District residents are worried about the impact the declining real estate market, high fuel and health-care costs, and rising unemployment will have on them. Strong fiscal leadership is needed to ensure our continued economic growth and prosperity. In a bipartisan manner, Congress must tackle the issues of government waste, overspending and the economic burden of the Iraq war, as congressional action on these issues will help reduce the deficit and lift our economy.
