Why should voters elect you?
I will continue to work hard to effectively represent the values and priorities of the people of this district on international, national and local issues.
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
There are many. Strengthening our national security, not only by maintaining a strong military but also by restoring our credibility and moral standing worldwide; beginning the safe redeployment of U.S. combat forces from Iraq in accordance with the bipartisan Baker-Hamilton Commission recommendations; finishing the job against al-Qaeda in Afghanistan; making college more affordable, fully funding Head Start, No Child Left Behind and special education; developing a system of universal health care, including mental health; preserving Social Security and Medicare; developing a sustainable energy policy; reversing global warming and protecting our environment; investing in transportation infrastructure; protecting civil rights; ensuring fiscal responsibility.
