What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"The most urgent problem facing CCPS is maintaining and improving high educational standards while operating within a projected state revenue shortfall. Although the bulk of funding for the school system comes from county revenues, in 2006, 42 percent of the operating budget came from the state. State funding may impact the 'cost per student,' student-to-teacher ratio, loss of experienced teachers and may affect other critical functions across the board. We must find ways to decrease expenditures without sacrificing fundamental classroom instruction, necessary administration functions and, as needed, locate other means of funding a quality education for all our children."
