As your representative, I'll listen to constituents, research issues and speak with experts to make informed decisions. I'll go against the grain for what's right.
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
There are several crucial problems: education, energy independence, the economy, jobs and Social Security. The most common theme I've heard when talking with citizens, small-business owners and the medical community across the district is health care, or lack thereof. This impacts all aspects of our community when citizens can't be productive; children miss educational opportunities, businesses can't operate at full capacity or an employee loses wages. The cost of health care is crippling our economy and individual lives. I've found overwhelming support for a plan that provides health care for everyone. I would immediately co-sponsor HR 676 when elected.
