What is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

Overcrowding, causing declining home values, blight, health and safety issues, and overall decline in the quality of life for affected neighborhoods.

Why should voters elect you?

I will support the continued aggressive actions taken to eliminate overcrowding. I will show sound fiscal responsibility and restraint, and not support a tax increase.

What steps, if any, should your county take to mitigate the affects of a slowing economy?

Reduce taxes by prioritizing and cutting expenses, and delay high cost "nice to have" projects. Provide tax incentives for the business community especially the small business community.

What is your position on illegal immigration and the affect it has had on your county?

When someone enters our country without following the proper procedures, they become illegal aliens as defined by the Federal Government. I do not support using tax dollars or town resources to support anything illegal.

In March, the Virginia Supreme Court ruled the transportation package passed by lawmakers last year unconstitutional, endangering major projects across the region. What steps, if any, should the county, region and state take to address funding issues for transportation projects?

I have always contended it's not just a regional problem. A minimal gas-tax increase across the Commonwealth to replace the loss in NVTA taxes and abuser fees. Everyone pays it, including Richmond and out-of-state drivers.
